I really hope Sean McDonough isn't the guy that's going to replace him. That's a massive downgrade.

Unless NBC gets the NBA back he's not.

I'm guessing Tirico is being set up to replace Al Michaels on SNF. Michaels has 2 years left on his contract and will be in his mid 70s then, and may have let NBC he wants to retire.

No, his contract will be with NBC. His current contract with ESPN ends this summer, probably after the NBA Finals are over.
