$20M - $2.2M = $18M approximately
Not the point though. The point is, this thread is pointless and dumb. |

Understand though I'm not trying to take away from how far he's (Foster) come, but - while you're right about proving yourself being important - there is also kind of a (for lack of a better descriptor) "luck" component often in play as well

*edit 1 season not 2 | FYI, Foster worked his way up the depth chart in his first season. He didn't appear in a game until like week 11, but started the last game of his rookie season, and was the starter at the beginning of his second season.
Edit: Whoops, missed your edit, LOL |

Edit: Whoops, missed your edit, LOL | Foster started at the end of his rookie year, but it wasn't until week 14. (3 of the last 4 games) (and if i recall correctly, it actually came following Slaton's benching - and then revealed neck/nerve injury - and then another RB either playing poorly or getting hurt)
If I recall correctly though, the starter at the beginning of the second preseason was between Slaton and Tate (or it was between all three with Foster being more of the darkhorse). Slaton then proceeded to - after a season where the coach was on him about fumbling - fumble on the goal line of his first drive of the first preseason game (which pushed him down on the chart) and Tate (either in the 1st or 2nd preseason game) was injured (on a kick return if I recall...it was either for the whole year or most of it).
It was then that Foster took control the rest of the preseason and won/established himself with the starting job his second season

| | 13-14 in handshakes | I think Tate was injured within 10 minutes of the first preseason game.
Slaton's nerve injury affected feeling in his hand, which is why he fumbled. |

| And then Foster had like 230 yards and 3 TD's in the season opener and the rest is history. |

What if Slaton never got injured and played very well or what if Ben Tate never got injured? Remember, it was Tate who the Texans figured would replace Slaton by drafting him in the 2nd round. Unfortunately, he broke his ankle in 1st preseason game in 2010.
If Slaton or Tate never got injured I wonder if Foster would still be on the practice squad and/or even playing football anymore? Funny how these things can work out. Makes you wonder if there are others like Foster who are on the NFL team practice squads. |

| Pass blocking is normally something rookies struggle with but it looks like Bryce is doing well in training camp... Quote: |
Philadelphia Eagles RB Bryce Brown has shown soft hands as a receiver since joining the team, and he showed off solid blocking in pass-protection drills Sunday, July 29. He appears to have a leg up in the battle for the No. 3 running back job over rookie RB Chris Polk

| Quote: | There aren't a lot of hot spots of competition in camp, but two to watch are at punter and backup running back. Philly last week signed longtime Cowboys punter Mat McBriar to compete with second-year veteran Chas Henry, but if McBriar has recovered from the nerve condition that plagued his plant foot in 2011, this really shouldn't be much of a battle. McBriar has twice been to the Pro Bowl and led the league in punting average in 2010. Henry had a so-so rookie season, finishing 25th in gross punting average (42.9) and struggling with consistency. Put your money on McBriar and leave it there. As far as who will back up the talented LeSean McCoy at running back, rookie seventh-round pick Bryce Brown seems to be ahead of Dion Lewis and others early in camp. There's always a chance a veteran like Cedric Benson or Ryan Grant might make the Eagles' radar screen at some point, but for now it's Brown, an intriguing talent who took a very strange route to the NFL. He spent time at Tennessee and Kansas State in college, but played in just 13 games overall, with all of four carries for 16 yards since transferring from Tennessee when Lane Kiffin made his hasty departure for USC after the 2009 season. Brown is a solid 6-foot-0, 223 pounds, and he catches the ball well, can block and is versatile enough to line up almost anywhere in Marty Mornhinweg's offense. | . |

| I'd be interested to know what he does after he makes his 2 mil in the league. I honestly don't see him lasting longer than four years. Not trying to be hateful, but what on earth has his path prepared him for after football? His dad really screwed him over... |
