This could certainly get nasty for HPD very quickly if it turns out AP was unjustly arrested. Consider the lawsuit of AP being jumped upon with his surgically repaired knee at risk. With the lawyer that he hired you can rest assured that he will make that connection very clearly in a court of law.

I'm sure the vikings will also have no issue with shelling out for that as well if the cops were being a holes. You don't bust the knee of someone's $100 million investment
Can you imagine the repercussions? He's driving home, and realizes he has to pee uncontrollably. With no public bathroom in sight, he accelerates his car up to 240 mph, trying to get home in a hurry. He hits a slight inconsistency in the pavement, causing his car to go airborne and fly into a children's and animal hospital, killing himself, 38 children and 113 kittens.
We live in a damn police state. This is ridiculous, if true.
No...we don't. If this officer did what is being said then he is an idiot and should be suspended and punished accordingly but let's not engage in silly hyperbole like saying that we live in a police state. We definitely don't.

I see you chose the blue pill.

Drones bro.
The TSA confiscates candy from a handicapped dude and call him "f-ing deafie" for his troubles.
Cops can confiscate large cash sums with no PC.
RI officer kicks a handcuffed and seated lady to the head and isn't charged.

etc.
Wake up dude.
I'm awake my man. Thanks for your concern. I'm more aware of this stuff then you might think. All of those are things I don't agree with and are reprehensible. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned that that's the way we are going. Certainly there is some stuff that goes on that should never happen...but we are not a police state by means...at least not yet. Also, just you are aware, I have seen officers punished and fired for doing things similar to the unwarranted use of force and extreme unprofessionalism situations you described.

What would constitute a police state? We already have widespread surveillance, drones, TSA, PATRIOT Act, checkpoints, etc. At what point would you consider it a police state?

That is reprehensible. I'd like to think 3 officers could subdue a pregnant woman. That officer should be fired and charges should be brought. Also, that police chief is a giant coward and should be punished appropriately.
Your freedom is not in question. This is not a totalitarian state and you are free to move freely and say what you want as long as you don't break the law. If you aren't, whoever stops you should be punished for also breaking the law. For instance, if this were a police state, you wouldn't have been able to post a reply to me because simply saying we live in a police state would have been grounds for the feds to kick in your door and arrest you for speaking Ill of the state.
Like I said, don't hear me say I'm not a little concerned about the future of our personal freedoms but we aren't living in police state just yet. Agree to disagree I suppose.

Definitely agree to disagree. I couldn't legally buy the optimal drug to get my wife through her cancer treatments. I can't even buy unpasteurized milk. I don't feel that free.

First off, that's a bad stop because he isn't compelled to prove that he is a citizen. That checkpoint should never have even been set up.
Even so, how damn hard is it to say "yes, I am." If he was in such a big damn hurry, instead of sitting there being a little b*itch, he could have just said yes and gone. He doesn't have to show any papers proving that he is because he's right, this isn't Nazi Germany.
