they play pittsburgh, @atlanta, houston, @new england, new orleans, and baltimore.

plus the 6 divisional games (and it's rare that a team sweeps its division)

not to mention there are games that are not gimmies like cincinnati and carolina

and the roster talent they have (whether anyone wants to accept it or not) is still the worst in the afc west

The schedule never ends up as brutal as it looks in the offseason.

They play the same Steeler team that lost at Denver just a few months ago with one of the worst starting quarterbacks in playoff history. Oh noes.

Yes, your logic of Peyton Manning led NFL teams missing the playoffs is rock solid. You're an idiot savant, minus the savant.

in the nfl, the best team doesn't always win (else the jaguars would never win a game). there are injuries and a lot of crazy things that happen during a season.

but, take an honest look at denver's schedule and tell me how many teams they will play that they are better than (peyton manning or no peyton manning).

I don't know that +Manning= automatic victory, necessarily, against Pittsburgh though (though I also don't know how Manning's faired against them, especially recently)

The main thing they'll have going for them is it's in Denver again, so the steelers will have to go away from their usual defense / create a new defense, to make up for a starting FS whose cystic fibrosis will once again keep him from playing there (which the Broncos exploited the h-ll out of in the playoffs)

If he starts 16 games, they go to the playoffs.
