Haven't been following the details of this.

Did Payton promote or endorse the program? Or did he simply allow it to take place?

From what has been reported, he allowed it to happen.

Not really a Goodell fan, but I'm with him on this one. Message needs to be sent that this isn't the 1960's anymore.

Holy Crap. Asserting some authoritay.

I obviously don't want players hurt and this type of thing should be outlawed, but it seriously feels like when I'm watching football in thirty years I might be watching guys wearing padding that resembles the giant hot dog guys that run around the ballpark.

Knowingly allowed it to happen, and possibly deceived investigators (I can't fully verify or dismiss the latter at the moment).

What do you do if you're the Saints?

Do you toss Payton and go ahead and find your new guy? Do you let someone come on for the year and see how he does and make a decision then? Or do you just find someone to fill in and let them know that they have one year and one year only?

Because you're not allowed to turn someone into a vegetable?

It's always been one thing to hit someone hard to shake or rattle them but it's another though to intentionally seek out to injure or debilitate.
