5 years 25 million. I'm glad he told Miami to piss off.

I was hoping the Stanford connection between him and Elway would send him out Denver way, but it didn't happen. Oh well, if he has success with the 49ers I'll wish they got him, but if he is another McDaniels I'll be glad they didn't.

I would be too. I am not sure how deep the 49ers are but I felt like he would have been a good coach with the Titans roster. If you have talent to salvage, I am sure Harbaugh will do a good job molding them. Jmo.

Roster is in pretty good shape. They are going to need a QB, unless Harbaugh can straighten out Alex Smith's problems with inconsistency. A solid number 2 at WR to complement Crabtree (who I think is coming along pretty well) would be nice. The defense could use a few pieces but there are no glaring holes, just the need for some quality depth at a couple spots.

I think this hiring also takes away any chance of the Niners going after VY (which I have heard some rumblings about recently). I can't see Harbaugh putting up with him.

now if the 49ers could somehow blow up that disaster known as Candlestick Park and get a nice, modern facility.

They will be in a new stadium in 2015. I am saving money to make the trip to the opener.

way too many holes still on the latter roster.

Good move by the 49ers, though. What seems to be the perceived feelings about whether to stick with a QB on roster or draft/sign another?

As a Niners guy, I an hoping they go after Kolb. The only guy in the draft I am the least bit interested in getting is Gabbert

Any specific reasons for Gabbert, other than that he was the #2 (now #1) rated QB?

I think he has all the tools, and I have absolutely no interest in Newton or Mallett. I would rather have Kolb
