How do you pull a post from a different thread?

I have had a need to do this on several occasions and have seen it done numerous times. I have read everything in FAQ section and it still eludes me. Maybe a mod or more knowledgeable user could enlighten me (us).

The question is: How to pull a post in a different thread to be able to Quote it in the thread you are in?

The easiest way to do it is to go to the post you are referencing and click on 'QUOTE'. When the text pops up with the quote codes in front and behind just copy all of it and then paste it into wherever you want.
