Computer Question...

This has nothing to do with the site, but maybe yall can help.

For some reason, when I try to go to certain web pages, my browser just sits like it's loading for ever.

This happens whenever I use IE or Firefox. Both are updated.

I can get to some web pages (like this one) but I can't search anything on google, or get to newegg.

When i use my PS3 browser, I have no problems getting to any page, so I don't think it's my ISP.

I have ran spyware doctor 1000 times, along with norton and nothing comes up.

Yall ever heard of this?

First off, Norton is crap. Get AVG or Avast. Both are free and very good. Secondly it sounds like you have some browser add-ons that are messing with you or you have a toolbar giving you problems. If you have multiple toolbars you will often have weird issues like that.

Just to be sure, you did go to internet options and delete all temporary folders right? Did you go to control panel and uninstall any programs you don't need as well(make sure). I use McAfee through comcast. No virus problems for years. I use spydoctor that normally eliminates ad ons and spyware. Your memory could be really low as well. If you have windows office program you can run it and it will repair problems as well.Sometimes you can even use a factory restore program cd and start all over again.Good luck.

Yeah I have done all of that, and i don't have Norton, I have Symantec and it has never givin me any problems. With that said, I still have this issue, and I am at my wits end.

I know its bigger problem because on this site, some peoples avatars don't show up, they just come up 404 Not Found. Some peoples even look like they are scanning/downloading something, but I think that is on purpose.

I have scanned frequently and it will come back with Trojan.vundo. I looked it up online and it said nothing about restricting internet access. I downloaded the trojan.vundo fix from from symantec and it says it doesn't find the dang thing on my computer. Dare I say I take it in...that would be embarassing, and costly.

I tired to download both and I was told I needed to play for the subscriptions. Where did you get them for free?

AVG Free - Download AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition for Windows XP and Vista
avast! 4 Home Edition - FREE antivirus software - Download

AVG is completely free. Avast has a home and pro version. Home is free it just requires registration. I use AVG more but Avast is very good because it has an option to scan on boot so it gets stuff that most won't because the operating system isn't running yet. Norton and Symantec are the same people. Unless it is the corporate version of symantec, it isn't doing you much good. Go with Avast first and let it scan during boot. You have to watch as it scans because it will ask what you want to do with each infected file as it finds them. Or you can answer "delete all" or whatever for the first one. The bad thing about Avast is it doesn't have a scheduled scan feature on the home/free version. You have to manually run a scan. AVG will scan at a scheduled time.

Glad you got it fixed... but just to make a correction, Symantec IS Norton.

So you are saying it is all semantics regarding Symantec?

Ouch. I just think it's a good beer is all. Great taste and it goes with anything. My favorite is Killian's, but it's such a heavy brew that you can't have as many.

Michelob light = zima? That is a bit harsh. That mean's you would have to put all light beers in that category.

Tough crowd.
