I'm just getting a big blank space when a video is posted in a thread using the [youtube] brackets. (To clarify, not the big white square one gets if they accidentally post a secure https link, but rather just a big space with a generic link to youtube at the bottom).

I just wanted to let the board know in case there was something going on. Is that something on my computer's end? Was the ability to do so stopped/turned off, or could this be from some change on the youtube website's end?

Thanks in advance.

I had to change the script but some people are able to post them. It might be your format and I might need to tweak the script. Can you post the url you are trying to embed?

Yes

These first two I posted I think only a mod can see other than me because you have to be able to "edit" the post to know what I'm talking about. The link showing on the posts after you hit submit just appear to go to youtube.com. However if you try to edit the post you'll see the original youtube video link I was attempting to post.

Thanks. I'll just put a random one; none are working for me at all, though. I can't post youtube videos nor - save for slydell's for some reason - am I able to see an youtube videos I or anyone else had previously posted.

I'll just start with this one though:

Will you / are you planning on changing it back to just regular "http"?

(Hope that doesn't come across as rude...it's not intended to be.)

As far as I can tell, No. There is a fairly good chance the same vine was also posted on Youtube however and you can embed that youtube link instead of trying to embed the vine.

If HTML coding was turned on on the website then you could embed them directly but I think Freak has HTML turned off for safety purposes.

Wondered a while about this. My html is rusty but would be useful. Don't think enough people would use it to make it worthwhile, especially if there's a safety issue.

Not sure why there isn't a way to embed with the WYSIWYG format. Seems like that'd be important to have instead of bracketing "Youtube".

You should be able to preview the post and get wysiwyg.

I've noticed that Youtube appears to be playing around with their URLs or something it took me 30 minutes to get a URL to work for my post in the Wonder Woman thread.
