| Another dumb computer question I looked at my routers security log and theres a lot of these from the past few days. Most of the ip addresses look like from my house but here are some of the strange ones.
Sun Jul 31 04:03:50 2011 1 Blocked by DoS protection 217.118.92.23
Sun Jul 31 11:59:21 2011 1 Blocked by DoS protection 213.83.130.10
Mon Aug 1 04:34:43 2011 1 Blocked by DoS protection 128.9.160.82
Mon Aug 1 18:15:17 2011 1 Blocked by DoS protection 92.247.12.242
Tues Aug 2 12:49:31 2011 1 Blocked by DoS protection 169.254.121.184
I've probably got 100 of these in the last 3 days. Anyone know what it means or how to stop it if its harmful. |

| | Bleating Minion | It's not necessarily a bad thing. DoS means "denial of service" which indicates that your firewall is doing its job. |

Do you guys have any tips on setting up a safe network. I don't know much about this stuff and there's a lot of tabs on my router settings. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| | VN conasewer | pretty sure you're going to get those messages regardless. If they aren't getting thru then your protection is doing it's job |

WPS is just Wi-Fi Protected Setup. If you already have a password to access and encryption setup for your Wi-Fi... WPS should be disabled. |

| Yes, I use a password to connect to it. When I called and told them the problem I was having they told me to disable wps, and now I'm not getting dos messages anymore. I wonder why that would stop those problems, any idea? Posted via VolNation Mobile |
