Ricky Rubio

What is everyone's opinion on this young fellow from Spain. His agent has said he does not want to play in Memphis or Oklahoma City, so that leaves Sacramento? Or will the Knicks get him? I could see him running the point beside Kevin Martin with Udrih as backup or I could see D'Antoni using him as a Steve Nash type. I just hope he is better than "Spanish Chocolate" aka Sergio Rodriguez, for the team that drafts him sake.

He's already better than Sergio. He'll be a flashy point guard but i'm not sure that he'll be an average defender. Also Rubio doesn't have a problem with Oklahoma City.

Is Michael Heisley and the Grizzlies really dumb enough to draft Thabeet with the 2nd pick?

My bad. Oklahoma City does not want to draft him, so they can keep Westbrook at point, I think.

no problem, i think the reason why Rubio doesn't want to go to memphis is because of Pau and Juan Carlos Navarro.

Marc may be in his ear as well. I just think Rubio wants to be on the big stage. I know it won't happen but it would be hilarious if Memphis drafted him anyway and he pulled a Fran Vazquez

Read an article about him in SI a week or two ago.......

Anyone who can hang with the best basketball team in the world, the United States Olympic Team, is pretty darn good in my opinion.

He is going to struggle against the bigger guards, obviously, and his shooting is a tick below average at this stage.

I would also say that he looks smallish as of right now, but he is 17-18 years old. A couple of years in a professional strength and conditioning program should get him where he needs to be.

It also seems to me, if you don't want to play at Memphis or Oklahoma City, Sacramento wouldn't exactly be on the top of the list either.

I didn't understand that logic either. I kind of hope he goes to the Queens, so the Knicks can get Young Money, for pure entertainment value, even though the Knicks are going nowhere until they get a championship caliber coach.

I don't think even Red Auerbach could coach that team to victory. At least not until that organization stops grossly overpaying for at best, above-average players.

So what's the NBA do if you draft a guy from overseas and he decides to stay out of the US? Just say "tough luck"?

So the team just ends up retaining signing rights I take it, kinda like the Lakers had with Marc Gasol?

T-Wolves selected Nikola Pekovic last year, they keep his draft rights until he comes over.
