| | smh | Matched the offer for Batum. I think I can live with that.
Overall I'd say he's been a borderline top ten small forward, but with great athletic ability and a serious value at what he was getting paid. He's going to have to start producing consistently though, especially with what we'll have this year. |

| Batum is a nice player, but a poor rebounder, and they are in desperate need in that department with being ranked 25th in the league in 2012 and the departure of Camby. |

| | smh | Unfortunately there's just not a lot of quality rebounding out there.
Not that summer league is worth much, but Damian Lillard has looked excellent. |

Not that summer league is worth much, but Damian Lillard has looked excellent. | Interestingly, advanced metrics showed Lillard as the 6th best player in the draft, and that's right where the Blazers picked him. |

When I say "advanced metrics say _______ is the 3rd best player at his position" I'm referring to the wins produced stat. You can look at total wins produced, or wins produced per 48 minutes (useful for comparing non-starters to starters) or WP48.
Wins produced is cool, but it's pretty complicated so you read on it, and try to talk to others and they just stare at you. There are a lot of other interesting metrics. Here's a great article to get you started: How Durant won a not so close scoring race against Kobe. | The Wages of Wins Journal |

Steals look weak at 0.5 but the guy's still been a stud overall | You'd figure FT's would be 85%+ like in college. Probably just a statistical fluke that his steals are that low. Based on what he did in college I'd figure about 1 steal per 36 from the start. |

| Is Portland still after Shaw?? Portland can back off Indiana's guys any time now
Nah, Shaw deserves a shot at being head coach. I loved getting him as an assistant and knew the Pacers were lucky to have him. He's worthy of getting a shot to be a head coach.
Just wondering though since it sounds like Portland has been fighting with David Kahn and I'm now wondering, do they also hate Kevin Pritchard? Really weird how Minnesota signed Brandon Roy/went after Batum and Portland has gone after both Hibbert/Shaw. NBA politics.... |

| I don't understand Terry Stotts. He's proven he can't coach. Why not give Brian Shaw a shot?
He must be bad in interviews.

| Will Barton just scored 74 against the French Under Armour Team. This was no joke. Brandon Jennings and Kemba Walker played.
Anybody remember this? Quote:
