Smith played great defense down the stretch. Kobe just wasn't going to let LA lose.

Yea, two shots (the fade away from the corner and the three pointer) really made the difference in the game imo. Both shots were defended very well.

Last night turned out great. Oh well, LA still should be okay.

A win away from another Finals appearance.

I think that he's played much tougher this postseason. I'm still disappointed at the Bynum injury. With a healthy Bynum there's no team with a chance to compete with LA. Maybe next year. As it stands now, I've said all alone that how well LA fairs will depend on how Ariza and the other role players step up. He along with Shannon Brown have contributed a lot.

Exactly! When the role players can knock down their open shots, the Laker offense can't be stopped by any current roster. Its great to see the ball movement we had last night. I was getting so used to seeing us play other teams game instead of ours.

It's also great to see this team step up at critical times and play defense.

Game one was interesting to me. Usually when Kobe takes a game over we don't end up beating teams as badly as we did Orlando. Last night was one of those Kobe nights. He easily could have scored over 50 (he had like 32 before the 3rd was even over) if he wanted to. Either Orlando was that overmatched or they played that bad. Probably a combination of the two. Anyways... Hopefully we can have a similar result Sunday!

I wouldn't be too shocked to see this thing over in five.

Also, I hope Kobe can give in and accept Shaq on the roster next year for a one year thing. Shaq would be yet another superstar big man to help teach Bynum how to play the game. Kareem already has been coaching him up.

It looks like Artest to the Lakers now. The Rockets had a great thing going in Houston. Now with McGrady's health killing the remainder his career, the Alston trade, Yao's potential career threatening injury, and now this, they'll be lucky to slide into a bottom slot in the playoffs next year unless they go out and kill free agency.

Also, this pretty much solidifies that Ariza will end up in Cleveland. Things are setting up nicely for a rematch in the finals next year.
