He certainly does not look anywhere near as clutch as Jordan was. There is a pretty significant fall off between him and Jordan.

that's 40% and he has played 2 much tougher defensive teams than Jordan ever played in a finals. I'm not saying he's better than Jordan, but the differences aren't very big, as you suggest.
