Joe Dumars

Once again, Joe D shows why he is one of the best at what he does. Unlike most GMs, he has the stones to make moves before the thing totally collapses. Watch what he does with player moves this offseason, as well. He is the poster child for being proactive.

He has one championship in 8 years and drafted Darko Milicic with the second overall pick. Doesnt sound like a hall of fame executive to me.

Most executives in this position would have ridden things out.

not with Dumars' mentality. He wants a hard nosed, edgy defensive minded team. This group was once that and has morphed into a worse defensive team, which I know kills Joe D, since he was on a team that won with nasty, nasty defense.

I'm not a fan either, but he definitely was THE difference in them making playoff runs and being a legit title contender.

Both sides of the fence. Rasheed has been both a help and a hinderance to the Pistons. That's just the type of force he is. However, I think pretty much everybody has to agree that he's gotta go if Dumars is serious about building another dynasty. I've been hearing Sheed to the Bobcats. I could see it.

That's pretty much a foregone conclusion after Sheed yelled "get that f'ing camera out of my face" and threw a towel over it in the Celtics series. The Bad Boys image aside, the Pistons have to pretty much reload and move on.

His team has also been to 6 straight conference finals. Drafting Stuckey will negate the Darko blunder in a couple of years.

No other team has done more over that stretch other than the Spurs. So Detroit has been the second best team in the NBA over that stretch behind only a team that has been called a dynasty by many, yet you act like Dumars has done nothing. Let's say Fulmer is fired after the coming season and his replacement goes to six straight SEC championship games, wins two of them and wins a national championship. That wouldn't be a remarkable job?

Thats a bad comparison. There is only one goal in the NBA and thats to win a championship. The bottom line is he has ONE.

Lighten up dude. Dumars has done a great job. Why does it have to be black and white? That means Utah sucked when they had Malone and Stockton? The Lakers were bad after 88? The Drexler era Blazers were a failure?

Just because you're not the best doesn't mean you're a complete failure, or haven't accomplished anything. The Pistons have done plenty over these last years. I'd call it a good run.
