| THE OFFICIAL NBA finals game thread Thought I'd get it started early.
Shame on all of you for an incredible lack of conversation on what has to be one of the most entertaining playoffs of all time.
Lakers in five.

If he leads this team to a couple of titles, you may even be able to throw his name in with MJ's. Yeah, I said it. So far he's done a pretty good job taking a team with little prior success through the deepest Western Conference ever.
The Lakers are on it right now, while the Pistons look pretty lackadaisical at times, and all of the Celtics are still somewhat of an unknown quantity in the playoffs. I can't see Boston or Detroit taking LA past six games, and as long as the Lakers don't come out flat after a long break, I'd say they could be either in five.

The best team in the conference isn't bothered by the depth, so them waltzing through isn't impressive. I'll be impressed when they beat a great team. SA didn't have it with half ginobli and Duncan's D falling off.
Kobe, however, is certainly clawing his way toward Jordan. |

I can't help that you understand little, but the large number of teams has diluted the true studs across the league, so very few teams are great from a historical perspective. The 80s Celts, Lakers, Pistons and early 80s sixers would destroy these teams.
Moreover, those teams didn't look at getting to the finals as big news. They were the best in their conference and should have beaten everyone else in 7 game series and they did. No big deal.
If you need further interpretation, let me know and I'll promptly ignore you. |
