| Mike D'Antoni out as Suns coach Reported around midnight PST. I'm sure hat is smiling ear to ear right now.

| I think this is an awful firing. This is the first time that he's lost in the first round and the Suns have consistently been contenders every year he's been there

They are what the Nuggets were in the early to mid '80s and the Run TMC Warriors were. All flash, no cash. We have consistently seen what happens when they play real basketball teams in the postseason. It's Sunset. |

It's the same reason that Nash can never truly be considered the MVP - no D. |

| Being a Suns fan, I really cannot say that this is an awful firing. Sure he had a 232-96 record while he was there and he took the suns to the Western finals twice, but the guy didn't do anything when it came to defense and that is basically the main reason the suns have yet to win NBA Championship. But I also think Firing D'antoni isn't just going to make eveything all better. You are going to need some players who are willing to play D and that means making some changes on the team. My main concern is who is now going to be the coach. All I know is Steve Kerr and company better know what the hell they are doing.
As for D'antoni. I think he will most likely end up in New York.

While I don't hate Iavaroni, I just don't think the team will ever improve with him. So I want him out too. I miss Hubie. |

Prior to this season they'd made back to back 2nd place finishes in the West. Grant Hill and Shaq didn't work out this season. They could have given him another year and tried to get some more defensive oriented players to get the job done next season.

| I doubt it. Mike D'Antoni is the current kingpin of run and shoot basketball in the NBA, and that's been proven time and again to not work. Time for the Suns to start over.

| Well on TNT it said that it's expected that D'antoni re-signs next week. Basically D'antoni doesn't like the fact that the Suns management aren't behind him in some of the decisions that he is making for the team. He actually was the one who pushed for Shaq trade. Not that Kerr couldn't have said no but still. I appreciate D'antoni for what he has done, but I think it's time for us to start over and get some players who can score and well as play DEFENSE.
Some people said that he should stay atleast one more year and try to aquire some great defensive players, but he's had 5 years to do that. Don't see the point in giving him another year to try and fix his mistakes.

| Here is a great article that rightfully explains why the Pheonix Suns have gone fishin and why that Stubborn idiot will resign next week. D'Antoni could leave instead of change - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
Steve Kerr 4 Coach!

| If they want to improve their defense, they're gonna have to get rid of Nash and Amare. No coach could ever teach these fools how to play any kind of defense. |
