Past or present, who is/was the coach you admire(d) most?

Personally, I've got to go with Don Nelson. Not only is he the innovator of the point forward position, but there isn't a more attractive brand of basketball than Nellie Ball.

Jerry Sloan he is your typical gambling, drunk white guy & a heck of a coach.

I'm a Red fan, but to be honest, he won a ton of championships with an enormous talent differential and when he really only had to beat 1 or 2 other teams. He did a lot for basketball, but of the legendary types, I'll take Wooden.

Red didn't have Sam Gilbert buying players for him. Pete Newell forgot more basketball than John Wooden ever knew.

Pete doesn't live up to the icon status that the other two have.

Pure basketball, I take Newell over just about everyone. Leadership, comraderie, motivation etc there are many others in the debate.
