I'm talking about the three gunners: Allen, Pierce and now Miller. Perimeter D will be entertaining and ball pressure will not exist outside of Rondo. Garnett is a solid defender, but Bill Russell couldn't help this squad.

Ahh, I got you. I don't know Russell and KG would make a strong front court.

You know, when was the last time anyone was talking about the Celtics? Since the move to get KG they have been talked more than I can remember in a long time. From that alone this has been a good trade... so far.

From my posts you would think I'm a Celtics but I'm not... I think it's good for the league though if they are a major player.

... Says the Cleveland freakin' Cavaliers.

I will give Chicago credit, they are a young team and getting better. Orlando hasn't convinced me yet.

Everyone keeps putting the Celts down but have you guys forgotten how pathetic the Eastern Conference is?? Who cares i they don't play defense, 90% of the guys in the NBA don't. They have 3 big time scorers that WANT to play with each other. Those three guys should get atleast 70pts a nite and on most nites that's enough to win in the Atlantic and the Eastern Conference. Adding Miller gives them a legit 3PT threat and a almost dead eye shooter from the free throw line.

I like you, Rocky Top. However, the above quoted post is one of the 5 silliest in the history of this board.

If they didn't play defense in the NBA, the average final score would be 135-128.

I don't know why the myth of no defense in the NBA still survives. The Western Conference is changing things, but if anything, the biggest criticism of the NBA in the past 10 years is that it's become TOO defensively oriented with teams like Detroit and San Antonio clawing their way to championships via trench warfare.

Defense in the NBA is not appreciated as much as defense in college or any other level. Too afraid of fouls and other things. I was just stating my opinion, geeze

That's why the NBA championship has generated such little buzz for the most part in recent years. By the time the two top teams reach the champ' round, it's a complete defensive slugfest.
