Huff, did some research on point guards

and how they played and winning percentage. I defined a scoring PG as one who had twice as many field goal attempts to assists, and compared it with passing point guards. Players had to start 50 games.

That's cool. The worst thing that could have possibly happened to Deron Williams is for him to become a score first guard. He went from being a perennial top 5 PG to mediocrity.

I was surprised to see that John Wall met the "pass first" criteria.

He had eight assists last year, which really surprised me with him.

I was surprised by Rondo's lack of WS/48 and PER. I figured it'd be higher.

PER is probably the worst stat known to man*. I'm not really familiar with win score.

I prefer wins produced. It's based on mathematical relationships between variables like rebounds, turnovers, and how they correlate with winning. Rondo has a very good WP score. Top 3 among PGs for 4 straight seasons.

The NBA Geek - Advanced NBA Statistics for all players

*You can improve your PER score by shooting horribly. It doesn't make sense. As long as you shoot 33%, an additional point will raise your PER score, but we all know shooting 33% will make your team lose. Horrible stat. It wasn't developed with any logic or mathematical reasoning.
