I would like to see all of them tracked, but I chose turnovers forced. There may be judgment calls in the scoring of the stat, that's the case for all of these to some degree.

I took turnovers forced over pass to assist, because advanced stats show that a turnover has twice the value of an assist. A PG may only have a pass-to-assist 1-4 times per game, and a good defender might be forcing 2 or 3 non-steal turnovers per game. I think there is more value in tracking turnovers*.

*currently if you force a bad pass out of bounds, draw a charge, force a travel, block a shot where your team gains possession, etc, you are only given partial to 0 statistical credit for making these great plays.

It's just a matter of "what's the difference between 'forcing' a travel, and a dude just screwing up and traveling?"

Same for out of bounds plays.

But I do like the sentiment, for sure.

It's going to be a judgment call by the scorekeeper. Just like with a pass-to-assist, you're going to have to draw the line somewhere. What if the guy scoring takes 2 dribbles? Does the initial passer get an PtA to his credit? Even assists are judgment calls.

With an and-one, the judgment call is made by the official. Continuation? Was it really a legitimate foul? Etc.

How many times Kendrick Perkins bear-hugs the opposition.

I would love to see defensive touches start getting recorded. I'm not much of a fan for the other stuff.
