However, Artest is basically saying "Come at me, bro" to the fans. It was a dumbass move, especially since he apparently said some things to Wallace while laying on the scorer's table. | He did? I've never noticed him saying things after he laid down. There was also a crowd of people in front of him. The whole thing sucked.
I don't agree with Artest at all. But I'd be upset too if I got hit in the face. These guys have crazy testosterone and from the looks of Artest, he may have taken roids at one point. He most likely has mental problems too.
He walked away from a heated situation and acted like a douche but at least got away from everything until things cooled down. At that point, I don't know how I'd react if I got hit in the fact by a stranger. I'd probably want to rip their off, I hope I'd have more self control but I don't know. You could probably look at Ron Artest the wrong way and set him off. I'm amazed didn't snap sooner. Jackson was the one really going after Wallace when it all happened.
The whole thing was messed up.

The whole thing was messed up. | I'm 100% sure I read where Wallace and the other Pistons said that Artest wouldn't stop talking, and that's exactly why he kept trying to come after him. I think it was in the Grantland story on it.

| | Give me 3 more!!! | The rest of the regular season. I love James Harden, but he and Kobe have been going at it all season. Harden won't back down and it ended up hurting him today, literally. I'm sure a lot of jawing was going between those two. World Peace really lives by the motto of, "actions speak louder than words". |

But laying on the scorers table doesn't give anyone the right to throw something at you. Especially if they're hidden in the crowd. That's a wuss a move.
He ended up beating up the wrong fan but if you watch the video, guy is on Artest's back after he goes into the crowd while he's going after a guy in in front of him and Stephen Jackson lays the guy out. And they don't show it but fans were running on the court and Jermaine O'neal knocked one out as the guy ran at him. That fan was responsible for other fans getting beat up as he acted like a badass hidden in the crowd.
Nobody looked good in that situation. Pacer fans stopped going to games and they had to trade everyone away. I'm just saying when everything had gone down, Ben Wallace started it. He shoved Artest and got the crowd riled up as Artest backed away. Then a fan decided to set everything off by throwing something at him. The fan couldn't control himself, why should Artest? He got hit in the face. Why was that fan so mad he felt the need to throw something? | Because the fan is the customer and Artest is the "professional". |

He'll be gone for for at least the first round, if not the whole playoffs. They better beat Sacramento or they will be out in the first round vs Memphis |

And that's coming from a guy who likes James Harden. |

| Rest of playoffs would be a joke. Prob 3-5 games is right. Slow motion makes it look worse, but it was a cheap shot. |

*averaging 7 FGA per game, and shot 15 per game with Kobe out. |

Why is his reaction to throw an elbow? IDK, but it was not a thought out play. |
