Yes, I've actively participated in the Pick 'Em this year, but it was in hopes I would start watching again. I don't. And NASCAR gave me another reason why today, although I'm hoping some of the more enlightened posters can tell me why this is a good idea.

Due to Tropical Storm Hanna, all qualifying was cancelled and the race is moved to Sunday. I'm fine with that. That makes logical sense. Good move NASCAR.

However, what's the point in impounding the cars? Won't a day and a half of constant rain totally change the track, thus making it necessary for car adjustments for optimal performance? I don't see why it hurts to let them work on their cars during the downtime, especially if every team has the same opportunity.

NASCAR has done a lot of dumb things that have almost gotten me to throw in the towel on the sport also but I'm still too addicted to ever quit watching completely. To NASCAR's credit,they have done some things right this season,such as penalizing the Gibbs crew chiefs for cheating in the Nationwide series,though penalizing Stewart and Logano was a little extreme. I'm glad their penalities were dropped but the crew chiefs remain suspended indefinitely. But yes,NASCAR still has a long way to go on other things if they want to keep the fans they have and win back the fans they've lost.

This may be a bit off topic, but I think that Nascar should have changed the races. The NNS race should have been at 1 while the NSCS race was at 7. Either way, this is their worst nightmare competing with NFL's opening weekend.

Imo they should run stock cars from the showroom , just add the safety stuff .

We're going to see a demolition derby tomorrow, no doubt about it.

I don't see a problem with a happy hour early tomorrow, to give the boys time to see what they've got on a clean track. There are a half dozen or so guys coming into this race needing to be on point throughout, it's disgusting that they locked the cars up.

After arguing time and again with Doozer about NASCAR vs. Formula racing, I am finding my self tuning out NASCAR more and more everyday. I can't stand watching anymore. I don't know what has happened to me. I used to love NASCAR. NASCAR really BLOWS as a sport right now!!!

It's too fabricated, too managed, too sanitized, all in the name of putting on a good show. The real reason is the powers that be want to overly control every little facet of the sport.
