| He must have been knocked out by the blast somehow....I don't remember the chutes coming out and he carried a lot of speed into the sand trap.
Another quality guy gone...RIP.

| Looking at it again...I saw a chute come out but the flames made it useless. his brake lines must have burned up or something. What I really want to know is why in the hell is there a wall at the end of the sand pit.
That's just stupid.

That's just stupid. | I didn't even see a sand trap...I think they just have a lot of asphalt. Hopefully this will bring about some changes in the end of track design...what a tragedy. | |

| I agree. That sand trap is really small. And a wall on the other side is asinine. Nets maybe, but concrete????

| that's really the first track i've ever seen with a concrete wall at the end. i'd like to take a better look at the track.
sad day for sure. one thing i hate to hear is the announcement that a driver has lost his life. | |

| supposedly the wall at the end of the strip was there because there's a highway or a road. there's a couple of amateur videos on youtube as well but i couldn't tell if there was a road down there or not. | |
