| Two great drivers
Robbie Stanley 1967-1994 Died while driving a sprintcar on asphalt in Indiana. The car sat down and a radious rod went through him after hitting the wall. His father built all of my Quarter midgets. When Robbie would run World of Outlaws in Jacksonville we would go up and pit with him. It is more fun to watch a race standing on a race trailor than in the stands.  Before Robbie died he offered to sell my father and I a sprintcar but my dad did not want me running Sprints at 16. Attachment 10801 rob90.jpg
Tony Renna 1976-2003 Died while testing a Indycar for Chip Ganassi before the Indy 500. I knew him very well and had raced with Tony 8 years in quarter midgets. I also ran Micro sprints with him after QM.

I do miss them and the racing life.

| I remember Robbie Stanley for sure, he was a very good driver. He won several USAC Sprint titles. I believe he was killed at Winchester. I remember Tony Renna being killed at Indy, but I didn't know anything about him. Thanks for sharing, I can tell they were special to you.

You have to be from the Indiana area to know this much about USAC and sprints. | |

Isn't that the exit of the carosel leading to the front staight at Mid-Ohio, right at the Pit entance?

Mainly I've just been a racing/gearhead junkie since I was about 10 yrs old. I follow most all racing, and have been involved in various ways since my dad had a NASCAR Sportsman (now Nationwide) back in 1962 when I was 14.

What a race that is. | |

I got to go once when I lived in Clinton, IA. There are so many cars entered, you have to finish in the top 2 in heats to transfer, or finish in top 2 in B,C,D mains. It's unbelievable the number of good quality drivers that don't make the A Main.
