There is no way Petty Enterprises should leave NASCAR. It takes a lot to get me to watch a race anymore, but I still follow along with the season. If Petty Enterprises left the scene that would likely be the last straw for me. I know they haven't been that good in years, but it's still tradition. It's about the only old school tradition NASCAR has left. |
How about the Wood Brothers? |

Regardless though, the #21 car will always be remembered. David Pearson, Neil Bonnett, Dale Jarrett's first ride. Don't the Wood Brothers actually even have an Indy 500 under their belt or am i dreaming that? Also the Wood Brothers essentially created today's pit stop. While I'd hate to see them and all their history leave NASCAR, they don't hold the weight in NASCAR that the name Petty or Earnhardt does. But then again, I can't imagine anyone else owning the rights to No. 21. |

| But it's not like it was actually because the wood brothers had a strong race team. If you have to resort to races you've won by fuel mileage and strategy then chances are you should just quit. Look, I love teams like RYR, Petty, Wood Brothers, etc. but with the way this sport is changing for the worse, it's only hurting the long time supporters and teams so people such as the Toyota teams, Bobby Ginn, etc to come in within the past 5-7 years and take over and do reasonably well because they have the most money to spend

Last time I checked the Wood Brothers aren't even guaranteed a spot in the 50th Daytona 500

| Sorry, that was probably too high. If that's the way you have to win races cough cough Pablo Wrecko at Sonoma cough cough then go ahead. Meanwhile Hendrick, Roush, JGR, and RCR will go ahead and compete for championships with there multicar teams while the Wood Brothers single underpaid operation folds in this terrible sport called Nascar

Until then, he's watching Tony, Jeff and Jimmie run circles around him. |
