Its not about being out of ideas its about making money and Hollywood had its biggest year revenue wise in history last year. Gilligans island has already built a fanbase and it will make a ton of money even if it sucks. Hollywood is taking less risks now and its a smart financial move.

making money by turning out crap to the stupid masses. There are no new ideas in that town and it shows. It's either a rerun or cgi

The days of major companies making pictures worth a damn is over. Its all about the money. The music industry did the same thing after peer-to-peer raped them

There have always been bad movies. People just forget them because they suck. If you think every movie from past decades was a good movie then you are sadly mistaken.

Also, take a look at the best picture nominations this year, 9 out of 10 are original stories.

Great movies are out there, you just have to look for them.
