I don't think that a remake of maximum overdrive. Which was about a meteor or comet hitting the earth and giving machines intelligence.

No this isn't maximum overdrive..... This scenario is based on the idea of God being fed up with people again and going "Old Testament" on our asses. He sends the angels down to wipe us out and St. Michael goes rogue in an effort to protect a girl that if I remember correctly is pregnant with an "immaculate" child.

The entire theatre sat in awkward silence after the old lady went wild in the preview. After about 3 seconds there was a roar of laughter. This movie looks stupid.
