he survived the plane crash.was the one who came up with "free bird". As a musician and lifelong fan of skynyrd i find it shocking. RIP

Loved and still love their music then and now!

I met him & hung out with him for a bit a couple of years ago here in Nashville. He sat down and started playing the piano at our bar & the bartender called me over to see what his deal was (we had an act playing that night). I though Ron Jeremy had sat down in front of me. He was super cool and explained who he was so I told him he was welcome to jam as long as he liked. The weekly act we had that night wasn't too happy but I told them to cool it, it wasn't everyday I get to hear a member of Skynard play while getting paid for it.
