I love that sound of country. I love Johnny, Hank and Willie but Waylon is my favorite of all time and Jamey reminds me of Waylon. I like the fact that he writes his songs too. He wrote 'Give it away' for George Strait. Not just some guy pretending to play a guitar and sing everyone else's songs like a lot of the crap out now. For the record I like Brad Paisley too, I didn't want him to get lost in my "new crap" argument. |

| | Learning Golf | I saw him on concert last month down in Southaven, he was fantastic. Sounds better live then on the radio.
You know how some folks just sound bad live, him, not so much |

| He better get busy with his substance abuse before you compare him to Waylon.

| now if country could only get more artists like him. seeing crap like kid rock on a country countdown ticks me off. It's a shame that it's gotten to the point that the new women of country are more country than the men. the past 20 years has been the exact opposite. |

Paisley in the songwriting credits.
Songwriting is a big deal to me, not that i've ever written a thing, but the greats can write, and do.
From my posts on the country thread you all know i am a fan of traditional and red dirt country, but what do you guys think of John Rich and Kenny, they write some good songs, and are top notch performers. I don't get into much of their style, but they are what they are, and aren't being what they aren't, somewhat of a rarity in Nashville today. YouTube - John Anderson & Big and Rich - Seminole Wind |
