Nolan Batman 3, Thoughts, Suggestions, Rumors and possible spoliers

Has anyone notice a sort of reccurring pattern in the Nolan Batman movies? They both start out with Batman having a close relationship with someone, then that someone takes a backseat, Batman encounters what appears to be the main villain, but whom is in fact just a pawn or a set-up to another villain, who turns out to be that someone Batman once trusted. In BB, Batman/Bruce Wayne meets Henri Ducard, his mentor and teacher, goes back to Gotham, and encounters Scarecrow, but Scarecrow is just a pawn to Ra's al-Ghul, who is really none other than Bruce's old friend, Ducard. In TDK, Bruce meets Harvey Dent, whom he hopes will take over the mantle of Gotham's legitimate protector, so Batman is no longer needed. The Joker shows up, and his reign of terror begins. Then some people are killed whose deaths can't be pinned on the Joker, and it turns out Harvey Dent, now as Harvey Two-Face, is the killer. I think the next movie could loosely follow that same pattern:

The Penguin: He would seem like the main villain, but he'd really be just a set-up for the main villain. I like the idea of him being a mob boss/illegal arms dealer, using the Iceberg Lounge as a front for his operations. With Gotham's organized crime now following 'freaks' to take down the Batman, the 'freaks' need someone who can supply them with 'those wonderful toys' and costumes they use to rival Gotham's Dark Knight. With Ra's al-Ghul dead(?), Scarecrow needs a new source for his fear toxin. True, the League of Shadows still exists, maybe with a new Ra's, or Talia, in charge, but they could still use Penguin as a go-between.

I would initially think Bob Hoskins was too old, but too old for what? Fight scenes? Short and stocky as he is, the Penguin is no match for Batman. He'd just have his henchmen do his dirty work. The Penguin would also rely on the element of surprise, unveiling his hidden blade/gun in his umbrella, for deadly effect.

The Riddler: Would need some tweaking to fit into Nolan's universe but I think he could work. Nolan/Ledger did a brilliant job incorporating Joker's signature look into the film, changing some things to make it more real and credible, yet remaining true to the Joker's essence. I think Nolan could do the same with the Riddler. He just would not be the Riddler without the signature riddles and question-mark suit.

Nolan started in an interview that three charactors that would never appear in one of his batman movies are Robin, The Penguin, and Batwoman. Also we are looking ahead a little too much Nolan hasnt even signed on for a third. The actors are all signed on for three but Nolan's contract is picture by picture so we dont even know if they'll be a third or if a third would be a Nolan film. In my opinion doing a third without Nolan would not even be worth watching because Nolan is one of the best writers and directors out there right now. I think if we see a third The Riddler would be the way to go. We cant have anyone else play The Joker and the Penguin would be too corny.

They never confirmed it. Before I saw the movie, I thought that the two-face was going to be "born" and that he would be the main villain in the third one. But honestly, I think he is dead and that the Riddler will be the next villain. I think Nolan could tweak and twist the Riddler like he did with the Joker and make him more dark and realistic to follow the ways of his other two batman movies. Either way, I can't wait until it comes out.

I would LOOOVVVVEEEE to see who he would get for the Riddler. Edward Norton? Robert Downey Jr? Johnny Depp? All have that dark side but don't seem to fit entirely in the role.

Before this movie, I heard Two Face would be the main villian in the third. Not sure if he is really dead or not. Two Face would be my first pick, but The Riddler would be a good one too.
