| | You huge girl!! | Shinedown : The Sound of Madness (Limited Fan Edition) Good-Great Album. Give it a listen if you like Shinedown. It has some Nickelbackish contemporary tracks on it so be prepared.

| | You huge girl!! | This album reminds me of what Linkin Park did with Minutes to Midnight. That album has finally grown on me enough that I like it. Shinedown didn't wonder too far off of the beaten path, but a couple of songs are pretty contemporary. One of the more contemporary songs is my favorite on the album "The Crow and the Butterfly". Kinda reminds me of a "Rocky" 80's ballad in a way. Good guitar solo as well.

| | Senior Member | Listen, Eric is my cousin but I gotta bash him on this one. It is no where near Nickelback. No where near it. This album is FANTASTIC. Not as good as Leave a Whisper but it is very very good.
To put Nickelback in the same category as Shinedown is a freakin joke. This album is great from start to finish. Do not miss this album. And if you never listen to Shinedown grab all of thier albums.
If you can't afford them, IM me your address and i will send you a MP3 disc with all the albums on them. They are that good. |

Bash the comparison if you want, but they still are more contemporary on this particular album than the other two.

Just cause there are a couple of slower songs does not make them poppy. They still use heavy guitars and the music is Rock. There is no pop on this album. |

Everyone has a couple slower songs. This is NOWHERE near "pop". Micheal Jackson is pop. Britney Spears is pop. Nickelback isnt't even pop. That is a strong word to just throw around and accuse bands of being. |

1. As far as that statement goes, you told me that Daughtry was poppy. Since I have listened to both I would consider both albums great as both have their hard songs and slow songs. Thing is everyone is going a little more softer for purposes of airplay time. They just aren't going after the goth or alternative people anymore for album sales. I could be wrong about this, but since BRock in Cookeville has went mainstream and classic I hear more kids around here these days playing this type of music versus the "Gangsta Rap" we used to listen to back in the day.

It died a long time ago. |

| The biggest Shinedown fan I know hates the new album. Says its completely different music than what they do and should play.
Doesn't make much difference to me though...I've hated Shinedown with a passion since they remade Simple Man |
