[b] I like just about anything that is rock based.
Some of my facorites are Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, KISS, The Who, Zeppelin, Beatles, The Guess Who, The Ataris, The Strokes, The Vines, Foo Fighters, Dylan, The Monkees, Tom Petty... on and on.
Ironically, I like Country-Rock, but can't stand Southern Rock. I also can't stand Steve Miller Band.
| Like your picks, but got to admit I'm all about the Southern Rock. Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Wet Willie, CDB, ZZ Top and Molly Hatchet were the hot bands while I was growing up. Hearing any of these bands brings back a lot of good teen memories. |

| | Renaissance Man | Like Milo, I've got quite the variety. What's in the player depends on my mood.
I've really gotten into the "alt-country" and "Americana" stuff lately -- if you want to try something new, check out Scott Miller, Patrick Park, Mindy Smith, or Damien Rice. My acoustic guitar playing has been largely influenced by Dave Matthews, the local style of Tall Paul, and (more recently) Howie Day. Call me a wuss or a sell-out, but I was listening to Dave probably before anybody else on this board (except maybe "The Virginian").
Used to listen to a lot of rock and metal (back in the day). . . .now usually reserved for working out (without the wife) -- Rage, Metallica, Pantera, STP, White Zombie, yada yada. . . . Limp Bizkit is cool, I kinda like the "rap-metal" thing, oh, and Eminem and Outkast have released some great stuff lately.
For eccentricity, I also enjoy dance and house music -- but not so much what you'll hear at the local booty-bar. I go more for French House (e.g. Dimitri from Paris), lounge/"naked music" (Miguel Migs, etc.), and some trance (Oakenfold, Sasha, Dave Seaman).
And, sometimes, nothing will do but a beautiful female voice -- Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Natalie Merchant, Norah Jones. . . . |

And....Opryland had a band that did a great Alan Parsons cover.
Remember the floating stage at Hermitage Landing? Good times.

| Right now I am a big fan of the Foo Fighters, they seem to get better and better with each album, not many bands do that. |

| i was wondering how i've never seen this thread before. then i saw it was from 4.5 years ago.
i have hundreds of CDs myself, both live shows and studio albums. it starts with southern rock for me too, and more specifically Widespread Panic, the Allmans and Skynyrd.
as far as rap goes, i don't care for much of anything new but was a big fan of Bone, Eminem, and Dr. Dre/Snoop.
there's not much i won't listen too. |

I can't wait to see Panic and ABB together this fall. That will be one sweet show. |

I loved seeing Dave back in the day. Haven't seen him live in a long time. Probably caught 30 shows between 92 and 97. They were all nice folks. Hanging out with Carter and LeRoi at Flamingos while Tim's band played to 40 people was a great night. Carter was fun as hell every time we hung out.
I'm happy they have finally put together a new album. The new single isn't all that bad, either.
