I got in on 24 in season 4. When I was playing catch-up, it was much better to watch on DVD. You could sit thru 6-7 episodes and not even know it had been 4-5 hours.

They need to do a movie instead of more tv stuff. They are just too limited with what they can do at this point.

Disagree. You're more limited with 2 hours of screen time. TV allows for more character development and you can add more plot lines.

Perfect example: Friday Night Lights. Loved the movie, but the TV show is 10x better because it allowed for more characters, more storylines, etc.

A lot of the stuff from the first two seasons would never fly these days. It was during the peak of the terrorism fears. He chopped off a suspects head to go back under cover.

And the show really fell hard, really hard following season 5 (or starting on season 5). I doubt anything today would be better.

They're actually talking 13 episodes, which for some shows that's a full season. I guess they'd obviously have to drop the real time stuff, but I'd be up for it.

Yvonne Strahovski Joins 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY Series

Chuck's Yvonne Strahovski Joins 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY Series

Dexter and Chuck co-star Yvonne Strahovski is set to star alongside Kiefer Sutherland in the upcoming limited series 24: Live Another Day. The story catches up with Jack Bauer several years after the events in the final season of 24. Strahovski is set to play a character named Kate Morgan, who is a brilliant but impulsive CIA field operative in London. She's a solid actress, and she'll make a great addition to the series!

The series is set to premiere on Monday, May 5th at 8 pm, and it will launch with a two-hour premiere. The series will shoot in London, and it's going to be great to see Bauer back in action! For years there was talk of a movie, and it almost happened. Then the idea went back to developing it as a limited series, which in my opinion is a much better idea, because they get to tell more than just a two hour story.

TCA: Kiefer Sutherland Says Potential ‘24’ Movie “Very Different” Than Upcoming Event Series

TCA: Kiefer Sutherland Says Potential ‘24’ Movie “Very Different” Than Upcoming Event Series

“If this causes a rebirth of the show or causes a film to be made, so be it,” said Kiefer Sutherland today at the TCA. The actor and executive producer added that any script for a potential movie would be “very very different” than the upcoming 12 episodes 24: Live Another Day limited series. “We haven’t really thought much about what a movie would be, we’re concentrating on this series,” said exec producer Manny Coto. “The approach we took is what could we do that we haven’t done before,” he added of the new series compared to the past eight seasons of 24. “You can pick this show up without having seen Season 8,” said fellow EP Howard Gordon.

Fellow exec producers Evan Katz and Brian Grazer, as well as co-star Mary Lynn Rajskub, joined Sutherland, Gordon, and Coto on the panel in Pasadena. Set in London, the new series takes up the now-in-exile Jack Bauer’s story four years after the events of 24‘s final season, which ended in 2010. The new episodes will see Bauer and Rajskub’s Chloe initially not working together as she has left her government job and to some extent turned against the aims of CTU. Not that the two aren’t still connected. “There is no Chloe without Jack,” cooed Rajskub to big laughs in the ballroom. “I had never thought 24 would come back and I never thought it would come back in this format.” Scheduled to start production in the UK in a few weeks, the new 24 is set to debut May 5 at 8 PM with a two-hour episode before moving to its regular 9 PM spot May 12. The resurgence of the 24 franchise is Sutherland’s first return to TV since his other Fox series Touch was cancelled last year after two seasons.

It will be interesting to see how they shoot the show. How will they change the course of the day or will it be days?

This show should have stopped after season 4. I'm sure there will be some cool moments, but they jumped the shark with the killing of a US president and detonating a nuke in LA.
