As a Superman fan I'm very concerned by this trailer. It's very dark for a Superman film. I'm also not a huge Zack Synder fan. 300 was ok and Watchmen was very close to the book but failed as a movie in a lot of areas. Sucker punch couldn't even hold my attention.
Of course, as long as it doesn't have Superbaby in it than it is already better than Returns.
I'm a huge Superman fan, and I hope Christopher Nolan has a lot of input in this movie. I'm not impressed with the above trailer though. Was the trailer before TDKR the same as the above?

There are two versions with the same visuals. This one narrated by Pa Kent (Kevin Costner) and one narrated by Jor-El (Russell Crowe).
Never was a big Superman fan. Didn't even know it was Man Of Steel until I saw him standing with the cap on. Was Clark Kent a fisherman before he became Superman? Thought he was some journalist.

I'm guessing Nolan wants to portray him as some sort of exile from society because of how different he is (no I don't think he was a fisherman...but media member reporter might have looked too bright/social for Nolan)
The Superman costume looks silly from the early shots I saw. One would think it almost has to be better than Superman Returns, that movie sucks something awful.

No, that part confused me as well. Maybe it's part of his journey to the arctic to build/find the fortress of solitude.
I really this this initial teaser is going to work against them.
The costume is ditching the red trunks (like in the new 52) which, to me anyway, are just as iconic as the S shield and the red cape. Again I think it's too dark as well.

Dark theme worked well for Batman but don't think it will for Superman.
