| Riverbend 2012 started with Eric Church
First of all, let me say, he's probably one of the best live vocalists I've ever heard in concert. His pitch was for the most part perfect. He stayed in key on every song. Awesome. The only downside, he tried way too hard to get the audience engaged. He didn't need to do that. He didn't need the screaming. He didn't need the muscle pumping. It ain't wrestling. His vocal ability is more than enough to stand on it's own. It seemed like he didn't get that.
Tonight is Foreigner. If you're not old enough to know how amazing their music was, that's too bad for you. They are MEGA GENIUS when it comes to rock and roll music. I am so excited I can't stand it!!!

Is the first week or two of June always a good time for these? I went to the Detroit Hoedown here this past weekend, so there's that, Bonnaroo, Riverbend, and the whopping CMA Music Fest all in a span of 10 or so days. Great for fans. | |

Seen Church 10 times so I'm partial. If you don't want to be fired up that's fine, but don't knock him for trying to fire other people up. What's there "to get" is my question? Are you saying he should know he can sing well and just stick to that or are you seriously trying to compare what he does to Stone Cole coming off the turnbuckle? | |
