| The great actors of a new generation There's no question who the great actors of Hollywood are right now. Most of us have seen these guys from when they were young playing decently big roles to now when they are considered the top dogs in the acting world. For example:
Tom Hanks
Mel Gibson
Russel Crowe
Brad Pitt
DiCaprio
Liam Neeson
etc etc.
So my question is, who is young now that will assume the roles of the great actors 20 years from now? The ones who will take on tough roles and be regarded as the top dogs in Hollywood.
My guess:
-Shia Lebouf
-James Franco
-Channing Tatum
-Rob Pattinson (as much as I hate to admit it)
Who else? |

Who else? | Franco is the only one in that list I think will ever be considered a great actor. Tatum I can see becoming an action star, but Lebouf and Pattinson.....nope. I think Pattinson will fade away as he gets older and further away from his Twilight years.

Who else? | Isn't Franco in his mid-thirties? Not all that young. |

Jonah Hill is great but I just doubt we will see him stray too much from comedy. "Moneyball" was probably as serious as we'll see and he was somewhat the comic relief in that as well. Women excluded in this one I may do a separate thread for actresses. |

| Shia may end up being the most successful out of all of the young actors, but I prefer Gordon-Levitt personally. Channing Tatum could last a long time in Hollywood if they can find a successful vehicle for a handsome leading man who can't act. |

He was hilarious in 21 Jump St. |

Who else? | Johhny Depp not being on this list is absurd. I think he is one of the greatest actors ever. |

Wasn't the point of the thread. Day-Lewis would be another one, among many others I'm sure in leaving out |

He's starred in about 25 movies, and 3 of them are good. |
