| Blu-ray movies I currently have no Blu-ray movies but I recently bought a PS3 and knowing that it also acts as a blu-ray player I'm considering gradually making the switch to buying Blu-ray movies instead of standard DVDs. Just wondering if any of you guys have made the switch yet and if you feel Blu-ray movies are worth the upgrade. They seem to have gone down in price over the years. Target and Best Buy have a lot of Blu-ray movies for $15 or under, new and old. |

| We switched to Blu-Rays a few months ago and we won't ever buy another DVD unless we have to. |

| I'd only upgrade an existing movie you have if it relies heavily on visuals or special fx. And only then if its modern. Otherwise I wouldn't bother. From this point forward tho, I would only get Blu Ray.

| If you don't have a decent surround sound system, I would advise upgrading that, also. Blu ray sound even with 5.1 surround sound will blow you away. |

| I made the switch about a year and half ago and want buy a DVD again unless there is something I am wanting that isn't released on Blu-ray (i.e. Documentary, locally released stuff)
Despite what some may tell you I quickly started doubling up and rebought almost all my DVDs on Blu-ray (with the eception of TV show sets, only had around 20 DVDs to begin with!) I also went and bought a lot of older movies that have been recently released on Blu-ray and they are outstanding.

| I've got a couple boxes full of DVDs still packed away in the garage from when I moved 4 years ago. I realised I never rewatch them so I quite buying them. I have a bluray player that I mostly use for streaming Netflix and Pandora. I cut off the disc portion of Netflix so unless someone loans me a disc I rarely use that feature anymore.
I read where the head of the bluray division at Samsung said in 2009 that the bluray technology only had about 5 years left in it before digital storage and streaming dominates the market anyway. |

I'm using the Best Buy deal they've got. Bring in any DVD (limit of 5 per day) and get a $5 credit towards any Blu ray movie at $9.99 or more. |
