I actually only saw 2 of the movies nominated for best picture. Liked them both, but didn't think either were worthy of a nomination (Moneyball and Midnight in Paris). |

| | smh | The Artist was preordained to win Best Picture. It was good, I thought there were some better movies out there, but the combo of it being silent and an unabashed love letter to Hollywood ensured its victory. |

| Unfortunately this is true. Probably one of the worst years for nominated movies. I can't see any of the ones that were nominated being remembered after a year or two. |

I thought Hugo was excellent, and nearly all of Scorsese's movies have long term staying power. |

| Speaking on Hugo, didn't realize my cousin is the agent for kid who played Hugo. Over the holidays I got in trouble w my aunt for bashing the movie. |
