Zeppelin

John Bonham's son, Jason Bonham, has a tribute band and I caught their tour-ending show Friday in Tampa. Here's a clip someone posted from the show which was outstanding.

Not sure if they might do it again, my guess is that they will as it has received terrific reviews. If so, and you are a Zeppelin, fan, try to catch it.

Most overrated cover band ever, IMO.

I think Nirvana deserves that distinction, but Zeppelin is in the conversation.

No, it was a joke on Zep, not the cover band. Zeppelin is OK, but I think they're widely over-appreciated. They seem to have inspired a lot of good artists, so I've gotta give them that.

Jimmy Page has to be in just about everyone's top three rock guitarists, right? Some combination of Hendrix, Clapton, and Page.

From a musician's perspective, it's really hard to argue the validity of their status. If you ask me, Plant was the weakest link, and I think he had an amazing range.

They were/are all multifaceted musicians that could groove to any sound.

Plant was the weakest musically, it would seem, though he was a hell of a front man.

This show I saw, they took some concert footage of Bonham in the drum solo for Moby Dick and played it on the big screen behind Jason Bonham and he played the same exact solo, note for note. Pretty cool.

Definitely talented....I kind of look at them the same way I see Pearl Jam...they contributed a ton to their musical eras, but their sound just isn't for me.
