Older movies on Blu-Ray

I recently bought a Blu-Ray player and I was wondering how older movies, before the world went HD crazy, look once they've been remastered and released on BD.

What I mean by "older" movie is something like "Point Break" or "Pitch Black". I'm even considering the BD release of the original Star Wars movies.

It varies wildly. I wouldn't spend the extra money on blu-rays of most older movies because it doesn't make that much of a difference. You're better off just sticking with the dvds unless you can find the blu-ray in the under $10 section somewhere.

Star Wars would probably be worth it, if you can stomach the changes that they made.

Blu-ray can make old special effects look extra old.

I have some old movies on Blu-ray several John Wayne films as well as Gone With the Wind all of them are for better than there DVD counterparts.

It all depends on how much the company/studio puts into the transfers of the films etc. on what they look like.

I'm a member of a website called Blu-ray.com you can find screen shots and reviews of practically anything released on Blu-ray.

I was slow in getting on the Blu-ray bandwagon only get my first player last Christmas but since then have slowly been converting a lot of my DVD titles to there Blu-ray counterparts.
