Because maybe other than Kanye West, Drake is the most popular rapper out there, no matter how much I'd rather that not be true.

And I doubt this becomes Nas/Jay-Z

Just because you rap, that doesn't mean that you are hip hop, though. Hip hop is a culture. All Drake and Lil Wayne do is rap.

I got through about half of this thread and only saw one mention of The Roots. That's the only group I stay current with as albums come out. (and Outkast but that's been awhile). Otherwise Im usually a few years behind before I discover a new album.

Currently I'm on Kid Cudi's Man in the Moon. I'm putting this album up there with classics like Blackstar (i was 3 years late on that one too) and Deltron 3030 (only a year on this one). I guess I like to let the creame rise to top before giving it a try, haha.

Just to give an idea of my tastes: Favorite all time groups are A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, the Roots, and Beastie Boys (although they kind of transcend hip-hop).

Can we just go ahead and ban anything involving Drake, Wayne, or any of those other pieces of excrement from the thread?
