Duplicate songs in itunes and music folder.

I would like to free up some space on my laptop and have a question about the music folder. Under music library I have iTunes, music and playlist folders. The iTunes and music folder each have about 8gb of music, most of which are the same songs.

Is there a way to transfer all the music to the iTunes folder and free up 8gb?

There's no way to do it. Sorry...

You can buy an external hard drive and store your music there. Downside is, you'd have to have your hard drive connected when you want to listen to iTunes. Not as much of a problem if you were using a desktop but gets tricky with a laptop.
