Johnny Cash is Amazing.

I never had any idea how great Johnny Cash is/was until recently, I had never given him a chance and thought I wouldn't like him because of my age. But there's something about his music that I think everyone can attach themselves to, I'm just disappointed I didn't find this out earlier.

If anyone has any cool stories about him, or anything like that then please post them, allong with your favorite song.

He is amazing. He was arrested back in the 60's in Starkville, Mississippi for trespassing and public drunk. He had been playing at my father's fraternity house (PI KAPPA ALPHA) and was caught picking flowers in some one's flower bed at 2 am. My dad said he probably went through a whole fifth of whiskey on stage and smoked a joint with them. He wrote a song about it called "Starkville City Jail." Here is a live performance of it at Folsom Prison. YouTube - Starkville City Jail - Johnny Cash

OP,also if you've never seen the movie "Walk the Line" you should check it out. Joaquin Phoenix portrays Cash in an Academy Award nominated performance.

His music video for "hurt" (recorded less than 6 weeks before he died) is probably one of the best music videos of all time. Very powerful. YouTube - Johnny Cash - Hurt **HQ Video**

Powerful video. Good rendition of the song. Sad in an exploitative type of way.

Johnny is the man! I love his version of NIN's "Hurt". It is haunting.

That movie sucks. If you want to know about Johnny Cash hear from the man himself and read his autobiography, Cash. It's still my favorite books and usually read every other year or so.

Any fan of Johnny Cash knows that film is garbage. It just tried too hard. I never once felt like I was watching Johnny Cash. Not to mention Biopics suck in general

Agree, Waylon's autobiography was pretty awesome as well, those guys pulled minor miracles living as long as they did.
