Saturday morning cartoons..a reflection.

Happened to turn on the TV this morning around 9am specifically to see what my toddler had in store for mandatory watching. I will admit i have been out of the Sat morning cartoon scene for a while so i didn't know what i was getting myself into.

To my shock, NBC had the Today Show on, this shat wouldnt had flown back in my day. You got up at 8, made some sugar coated cereal and watched till at least noon.

Got me to thinking, what were the cant miss SMC of the 89's and 90's? Took me a while but in true Billy fashion let's hear your top 5.

5.Real Ghostbusters
4.Duck Tales
3.Garfield And Friends
2.Smurfs
1.Hey, Vern, It's Ernest (not a cartoon.. details..)

HM :Beakman's World

If you are around my age, here is the TV listing from 1979-90, pretty cool.

Everybody likes nostalgia, though.

1. Street sharks
2. Ninja turtles
3. Rocko's Modern Life
4. Nickelodeon game shows (Double Dare, whatever that temple challenge thing was)

That's all I got.

Beakman's World was wild.

Liked Reboot, Darkwing Duck was the stuff.

Saturday morning cartoons were the greatest. Now it seems like they just show a bunch of crappy Disney shows.

I grew up watching Sid & Marty Krofft's shows. While not actually cartoons, they were good kid-stuff.

H.R. Puffenstuff
Lidsville
Sigmund and the Sea Monsters
Land of the Lost
The Krofft Supershow

... just to name a few.

the Kroft Supershow was awesome

Waldo Kitty
Electro Woman and DynaGirl
Shazam!

cartoons:
Loony Toons
Hong Kong Phooey
Grape Ape
Speed Buggy
Marlo's Magical Movie Machine

although that's all stuff from the 70's. Saturday mornings in the 80's were dominated by:

Flash Gordon
Transformers
Johnny Quest
He-Man

I don't remember watching any live action shows in the 80's.
