Below are the 2018 Oscars nominations (It airs on March 4). I never watch it, honestly, but I enjoy looking at all of the nominations and finding out who won what the next day. I will say I'm disappointed to see that Blade Runner 2049 didn't get nominated for best picture, so I hope Dunkirk comes through with it.

I won't watch any of it myself....I don't care who wins what these days in Hollywood.
Like you, if I want to know the outcome, I'll read about it later....it's not important to me.

I appreciate that, though I copied and pasted pretty much all of it lol.

I really just pay attention to who wins best director, lead actor, lead actress, and best picture. Or if a actor/actress or film I really like is nominated in another category.

I don't watch any of this stuff. Seems like the first of the year is one awards show after another. And this year they'll all be pretty much the same thing. A 3 hour long Trump bash-o-thon.

INB4 Get Out is the greatest film of all time and should win every Oscar, The cfb playoffs, the World Series, Stanley cup, a gold medal, pga championship, and the Heisman 😁.

I have always enjoyed the Oscars because they help me learn more about movies I hadn't heard about before. That being said, Moonlight winning last year over La La Land was just absurd.

I hope Oldman wins Best Actor this year to make up for it.

I always watch it about an hour or so after it starts so I can fast forward through all the speeches.

Probably not, I'm simply saying it's the one I'm hoping wins. Haven't seen Shape of Water or Three Billboards, though.

Three billboards is excellent but won't win. Will win actress and supporting actor.

My money is on shape of water.

Waiting on pins and needles to hear what all of these very educated people will say during their acceptance speeches on Sunday. I’m sure #boycott something will be trending .

Meh, I thought La La Land was incredibly overrated.

I thought Lion was the best movie last year.

I agree. Blade Runner 2049 was the best movie I saw last year. It looks like it was nominated in every technical category though and it deserves them all. Deakins should definitely win for Best Cinematography. I saw "The Post" and thought it was boring. I didn't really care for "Get Out" either. I liked "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri", "Dunkirk" and "I, Tonya".

I would like to see:

Best Picture: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Best Actor: Gary Oldman - "Darkest Hour" I didn't see it but he is long overdue.
Best Actress: Margot Robbie - "I, Tonya"
Best Supporting Actor: Woody Harrelson - "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri"
Best Supporting Actress: Allison Janney - "I, Tonya"
Best Director: Christopher Nolan - "Dunkirk"

Get Out definitely did not live up to the hype. At all.

No way it deserves Best Picture.

Which movie would you pick for best picture? I've only seen a couple so IDK, but Get Out was great. I loved Dunkirk, too, but neither of those seem best picture worthy, but they gotta give it to somebody.

I enjoyed Get Out, I thought it was good. But when it was over the wife and I looked at each other like "was that it?"

I guess Dunkirk?

Three Billboards was great but not best picture worthy. Suprised Phantom Thread hasn't ran away with it...Daniel Day Lewis and all.
