Earth to Echo’s David Green to Direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

David Green to Direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

Although he had spoken in the past about his plans for additional big screen entries in the franchise, it looks like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles helmer Jonathan Liebesman won’t be returning for 2016’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Instead, Variety is reporting that the director’s chair will go to Earth to Echo helmer David Green.

The original film, released this past summer, stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub. It grossed more than $477 million at the worldwide box office and lands on DVD and Blu-ray December 16.

Earth to Echo, released this year by Relativity Media, offered a family-friendly “found footage” tale with an overall tone somewhere between E.T. and The Goonies. It grossed $45 million worldwide on a very modest $13 million budget.

Shortly before Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released, ComingSoon.net spoke with Fox (who is expected to return for the sequel) about her performance as April O’Neil. As you can watch in the video player below, she reveals an Easter Egg cameo from the first film that you might have missed and teases Bebop and Rocksteady for the sequel.

Michael Bay will again produce the big screen take on the heroes-in-a-half-shell through his Platinum Dunes. The sequel is already set for release on June 3, 2016.

I was surprised by the first one and really liked it! The sequel gets underway shortly with a new director! Plus rumors that Bebop and Rocksteady along with Casey Jones will be in the sequel!

Filming starts in a couple of weeks! :good!:

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' to film in New York City and Buffalo, bringing an estimated $70 million in spending

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' to film in New York City and Buffalo, bringing an estimated $70 million in spending

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to New York — and they’re bringing some serious green with them.

The action flick sequel, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2,” will begin filming next month in New York City and Buffalo, which officials estimate will result in $70 million in spending.

The bulk of that money — $63 million — will be spent in the Big Apple, according to Paramount.

"New York City knows how to host blockbuster films," said Mayor de Blasio.

“We welcome ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’ to New York City, and look forward to the many jobs and tens of millions of jobs this will bring to our local economy.”

The sequel of the heroes in a half shell will film in New York City and Buffalo, and is estimated to bring $70 million in spending to the state, with $63 million being spent in the city.

The details of where the shoots will take place and what stars are featured are being kept under wraps.

“We can only imagine what the filmmakers have in store,” said Cynthia Lopez, commissioner of the mayor's office of media and entertainment.

The movie will be in theaters in June 2016.

Ninja Turtles impact in Buffalo pegged at $7 million

Ninja Turtles impact in Buffalo pegged at $7 million

Advance crews for “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” are already in the region and scouting possible sites that may serve as a backdrop for the movie.

Filming likely won’t happen until early May, but crews from the big budget production are working with the Buffalo Niagara Film Commission on area locations that may work for the movie.

“It is really more locational,” said Tim Clark, film commission executive director.

Empire State Development officials last week confirmed the movie will be shot in Buffalo and New York City. Both were selected over other states because of locational issues, resources and incentives offered under the New York State Film Production Tax Credit Program enacted two years ago.

Combined the economic impact for both Buffalo and New York City is estimated to be around $70 million, with Buffalo’s direct economic impact pegged at least $7 million.

“The movie crew will be staying in our hotels, eating in our restaurants and hiring local people to be part of the production team,” said Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.

Between the two cities, more than 1,000 people will be put to work during the filming, according to Empire State Development estimates.

Principal filming will begin next month in New York City before shifting to Buffalo for a few weeks. It will, then, return to New York City.

The movie is due to be released next summer.

eenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 to shoot next month

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 to shoot next month

The sequel to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot is in cinemas in 2016 - and production starts next month...

According to one report released last week, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was one of the 20 most profitable movies of 2014. It comes as little surprise, therefore, that Paramount and Platinum Dunes have long since decided to press ahead with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Now, if we were going by the rules of the 1990s, this one would hire Vanilla Ice and involve some ooze. However, we can't claim to know what's in Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec's screenplay. We do know that Megan Fox and William Fichtner are expected to return, along with the Turtles voice cast from the first movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles grossed just shy of $500m worldwide, and it's the New York Daily News that's revealed that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will be shooting next month in New York City and Buffalo (mainly New York City though, by the sounds of it).

The movie already has a release date, of June 2016. This time around, the film's going to be directed by Dave Green, who was responsible for last summer's decent Earth To Echo. He takes over from Jonathan Liebesman, who helmed the first movie.

We'll keep you posted on any potential Vanilla Ice involvement, obviously.

This could be awesome!

Arrow’s Stephen Amell to Play Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2!

Arrow’s Stephen Amell to Play Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2!

Stephen Amell, best known for playing Oliver Queen on The CW’s hit DC Comics series “Arrow", appears to be taking a quick detour from Starling City to the Big Apple. According to Variety, Amell has just joined the cast of Paramount Pictures and Platninum Dunes’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 where he’ll be playing a different masked vigilante, Casey Jones!

Created by Kevin Eastman, Jones first appeared in a 1985 “Raphael” miniseries, published by Mirage Studios. A hockey-mask wearing vigilante, Jones becomes an ally of the turtles and a love interest for April O’Neil.

Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form will return to produce the upcoming sequel which features a script by returning screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec. Megan Fox will reprise her role of April O’Neil along with William Fichtner as Eric Sacks. The original film also starred Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Danny Woodburn, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub. It grossed more than $485 million at the worldwide box office.

Though unconfirmed, previous reports on the sequel have alluded to the inclusion of the likes of Bebop and Rocksteady or even the interdimensional Krang as potential villains.

Set to be directed by Earth to Echo‘s David Green, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set for release on June 3, 2016.

Shredder cast!

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Casts A New Shredder

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Casts A New Shredder

During production of last year's live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, actor William Fichtner's Eric Sacks character was supposed to be revealed as the villainous Shredder. But during reshoots, the filmmakers decided to change things up and have a different actor (Tohoru Masamune) step in to play that role. For the sequel, the actor portraying the Turtles' nemesis will change yet again: Variety reports that Brian Tee has been cast as Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Tee, who you may recognize from The Wolverine, The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift, Mortal Kombat: Legacy, and the upcoming Jurassic World, will join Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell, supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, and Tyler Perry in the sequel, set to be directed by Earth To Echo helmer David Green. The movie arrives in theaters on June 3rd, 2016, and you can see some new pictures of some of the vehicles from the film right here.

That hockey mask is ridiculous, but I can understand them wanting to use a more realistic mask and separate themselves from Jason Vorhees.

The mask doesn't look a lot different than the one Elias Koteas had in the original '80s film!

It's funny cause I always thought Punk was the spitting image of Elias Koteas, especially as Koteas got older. There were moments in Turtles 3 where I could've swore it was Punk.

I mean the picture on the left could very well be a Punk at his age:

If Vanilla Ice doesn't reprise his role, not worth seeing...

Also, Megan Fox is overrated.

I would say that when they actually become Bebop & Rocksteady as we know them it will be done with CGI & motion capture suits like they did with the turtles.

I can't remember how they were created in the original cartoon but they seem to be following the new animated show closely with these films. So they are probably going the two punk rockers who end up getting mutagen on them like in the new series.

Originally, Shredder purposely mutated them into their rhino and warthog form in order to beat the Turtlles. Sheamus should be blonde to be exact, but that isn't really a big deal. The purple mohawk on Gary Anthony Williams is spot on, so it makes the lack of blonde hair confusing though.
