I could have gone, but forgot about the race being that weekend and had already told my mom that I would go with my family to Hilton Head that week. Oh well maybe in August, now I'm just praying that UT basketball doesn't draw a tourney game that Sat. afternoon or else I'll have to miss it because of the drive down there. Hopefully the weather will be nice though so I can get in a few rounds of golf.

I hope they can improve the wrecking there. I love Bristol but it hasn't been the same since they improved the surface. I'm sure the drivers love it but I want to see tempers flaring.

The race has lost some of its intrigue ever since the resurfacing. In the past, the bottom line was the only way to be fast, so the drivers would push and shove in order to get their cars down there. Now, the outside line is just as fast, and IMO the race just isnt as exciting. Its still fun to go watch though.

Here we go again with the question is wreckin' racin'? I like the new Bristol where there is actual passing. Before it was follow the leader until it got down to the end, and then it was bump 'n pass. Made for an exciting finish sometimes, but the rest of the race to me was no real racing, just a bunch of cautions breaking up the action.

Oh, I'll be here as usual. I have a room available if someone is interested.

I see where you're coming from but some of the most memorable moments in racing, for me, were on the old surface. I think about Earnhardt Sr. getting booed for dumping Terry Labonte or Rusty throwing his water bottle at Sr. I guess all that stuff does come down to the finish but hopefully the field will stay bunched up throughout the race. Maybe the double file restart will help with that.

I enjoyed the Martinsville race more last year and usually I would have picked Bristol between those two races.

i've seen plenty of borefests on the old surface too.

and the finish year before last with Busch and Edwards was exciting.

the surface is just an excuse for fans who think they're going to get a demo derby every time they go to Bristol.

I won't be able to go this year. If anyone needs tickets I have 2 in Turn 1 for $100 each.

The only thing that the wrecking adds in my opinion is it helps to keep more cars competing for the win. Since Bristol is such a short track, it doesn't take that many green flag laps for cars to start falling off the lead lap. The one that comes to mind is night race about 5 years ago that Dale Jr. dominated. There was a long green flag run of about 200 laps in the middle of the race, and by the time a caution finally flew, there were only about 5 or so cars still on the lead lap. With the new rules making it almost impossible to race your way back onto the lead lap, once you lose the lead lap, your day is pretty much over. I think having as many cars as possible with a shot at winning the race makes it more exciting.

bought 2 tickets in wallace tower for $100 for all three days. its amazing how easy tickets are to get for this race now. back in the day, no way you could get tickets comparable to these for $100 for 1.

this will be my son's first big race. he's been to the truck race and nationwide. he's pretty pumped and i am dad of the year.

Good times!! One suggestion, try to go to the museum in the track office building, probably a long line.

I have been to the past 2 races there and been to many many others (used to live in Bristol). Wish I could make this one

This Sundays race isn't looking to promising as of yet. Weather channel is calling for 90% chance of thunderstorms on Sunday.
