| The State of NASCAR - What do you think? NASCAR will hold a "State of NASCAR" meeting with owners and drivers this week to discuss what changes need to be done to advance the sport. Why not ask the people that really matter, the fans? What do you think should be done? |

| after listening to Humpy Wheeler unload on Bruton Smith, I think Nascar needs more public rivalries. I don't want it to turn into the WWE, but everybody pretending to be part of one big happy family has gotten old.
the common template car is a mistake as well
there needs to be a Sprint Cup race at Nashville

| I think the state of NASCAR is North Carolina. An argument could be made for Florida.

| | Senior Member | I think NASCAR should add the Kentucky race or the Nashville race to the circuit and drop one or two of the current race tracks - drop one of the New Hampshire, Texas or Michigan races.
You'll still have those who follow NASCAR still go to some of the races. The economy has affected everything.

| Texas and Michigan aren't going anywhere. Both of those tracks draw very large crowds, especially Texas. Nashville will never get on the circuit unless they add some seats. Kentucky deserves a race and would probably be in line to get one if they hadn't sued the company that approves the sites. |

Bruton had no stake in that track. |

| There are alot of good points here. I think they really need to look at the schedule. Drop one race at Cali, Phoenix, and Loudon. Give a date to Kentucky and Nashville. Leaving one date open which should go back to Darlington, giving it 2 races a year again.
The Nationwide series needs to have a limit that drivers in the top 35 of the Nextel Cup can drive in. That was suppose to be the triple A of NASCAR, now its just overran by Cuppers and there is no real developement series anymore. The Truck series is on life support. They need to get back to what the Truck and Nationwide series were made to do, develope young drivers.
NASCAR needs to do more to help teams by starting a revenue sharing like other big sports have. There is no reason teams that have been in NASCAR for years (Petty, Woods Bros, Morgan-McClure, Yates) should either be gone, run limited schedules, or have to merge with other teams. This sport makes way to much revenue for this to be happening.
I can go on forever but I will stop here lol. |
