Dale Jr. to run Camo paint scheme

Special scheme for Dale Jr at Daytona: To honor the National Guard and this weekend's Fourth of July holiday, the #88 Chevy of Dale Earnhardt Jr. will run a special, hand-painted camouflage ACU (Army Combat Uniform) scheme. The National Guard Defending Freedom (ACU)/AMP Energy Chevy took two days and 10 coats of DuPont paint to finish. The scheme was unveiled to National Guard soldiers at North Carolina's Camp Butner on June 18 by Earnhardt and the #88 team.

I miss the old woodland camouflage, but I know that some nerd somewhere figured out that the new digital patterned camo is more effective.

Good looking car though. Makes an old Guardsman like me proud.

He ran a camo car last year at Charlotte in honor of Memorial Day. It was the DEI Bud car and it didn't look as good as this one. I almost prefer they run their standard paint scheme when I go to the race. I spend the whole race trying to figure out who is who when they all run a special paint scheme.
